On 13 Aug., 2016, Xiangyang Chia Tai
Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. (Xiangyang Chia Tai Agriculture) and Nantong
Bear Seeds Technology Co., Ltd. (Nantong Bear Seeds) signed a strategic
cooperation agreement in Beijing.

In this cooperation, Nantong Bear Seeds will
increase capital of all routine scientific research breeding and seed
businesses to buy into the Xiangyang Chia Tai Agriculture. This truly realizes
powerful combination and complementary advantages. Besides, this will certainly
add new vitality for the development of China’s seed industry.
Many leaders attended this signing ceremony such as Liu Jian, former vice
minister of the MOA, Zou Kui, division chief of Variety Management Division of
Seed Bureau of MOA, Liu Hengyou, vice mayor of Xiangyang City, Hubei Province,
He Jinlong, station master of Jiangsu Seed Management Station, Vice Secretary
Zhang Shuangcheng and Director Yuan Haihe of Xiangzhou District Committee,

Xiangyang Chia Tai Agriculture is a
large-scale modern crop seed enterprise established by CP Group. It engages in
integration of breeding, production and marketing of seeds of main crops. Since
its establishment in Xiangyang City, Hubei Province in 1996, it always upholds
the fine tradition of “devoting to agriculture, serving farmers”.
At present,
there are three large seed processing centres in Xiangyang City, Hubei
Province, Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, and Zhangye City, Gansu Province. Their
annual production and processing capacity is 50,000 tonnes. They focus on
breeding, producing and popularizing fine corn hybrids.
For example, for twenty
years, independently-developed fine new corn varieties includes Zhengda12,
Zhengda999, Zhengda619, Zhengda808, Zhengda719, etc. They have been promoted to
over ten provinces and are popular with farmers.
Specifically, “Zhengda619” is resistant to barren, good in resistance and fine
in quality. It is one of the preferred varieties in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous
Region and is a trial control variety in corn areas there. So far the
accumulated generalization area has been over 2.67 million ha (40 million mu).
“Zhengda999” is eurytopic, great in quality, high in resistance and high in
yield, which is also favored by farmers. Now, it has been examined and approved
by Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Chongqing and Guizhou provinces, Guangxi Zhuang
Autonomous Region and southern Shaanxi province. So far the accumulated
generalization area has been over 4 million ha (60 million mu).
“Zhengda12” is wide in adaptation, high in unit weight, excellent in quality,
and good in benefits of silage seeds. It has been examined and approved by
Gansu, Shaanxi, Hebei, Henan, Anhui and Hubei provinces and Ningxia Hui
Autonomous Region. So far the accumulated generalization area has been over
5.33 million ha (80 million mu).
For twenty years, the totally popularized planting area of fine corn varieties
of CP series is around 13.33 million ha (200 million mu). It provides a direct
income increase of more than USD5 million (RMB30 trillion) for farmers. “Chia
Tai” brand has become really famous in domestic seed industry.
The company has
been entitled as “China’s Top 50 Seed Industry”, “National Double Excellence
Foreign Investment Enterprises”, “High-tech enterprise in Hubei Province”, “Key
Leading Enterprise of Agricultural Industrialization in Hubei Province”, and
“AAA Credit Enterprise in Enterprise Credit Evaluation”. It also passed ISO9001
quality system authentication.
Nantong Bear Seeds, founded in 2012, was
jointly organized by an overseas R&D team and a domestic investment
institution. Its variety R&D is mainly for the eastern North China and has
radiation potential to Northwest China and huang-huai-hai area. The company
shows its significant personnel accumulation effect and overall R&D
advantages in a short time.
This benefits from the national strategy of
innovation-driven development and its own good mechanism construction. Besides,
Nantong Bear Seeds has an effective variety R&D and testing system. Routine
breeding techniques and a molecular assisted breeding technique are combined.
Therefore, the approval of several fine corn varieties has been implemented
such as Xiongyu581, Xiongyu587, Xiongyu582, Zunyu1, etc. In future, a number of
highly prospective varieties will be put on market.

company will also re-plan in several aspects of variety R&D, production,
popularization and so on. By 2020, it plans to establish a storage base of
666,667 ha (10 million mu) for planting high-quality special corn for feed in
the surrounding areas of Xiangyang City, Hubei Province, and Northeast China.

industries of seed, planting, feed, cultivation and food. Business philosophy
