According to China Customs, during Jan.-Feb. 2015, the total export volume of China’s VC was 21,358.79 tonnes, with a 8.0% year-on-year growth rate. The average export price of VC dropped by 6.9% from the same period a year earlier to USD3,734/t.

The main export destinations of China’s VC were the US, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The exports to those destinations accounted for 53.0% of the China’s total. Among them, the exports to the Netherlands increased 248.4% year on year to 1,133.50 tonnes.

The export price of VC will maintain low level, which is attributed to VC overcapacity and sufficient supply.

• The domestic vitamin manufacturers are working normally, at present.
• The inventory of VC is large in the domestic market.

According to CCM’s investigation, the market price of VC showed a downtrend from Jan. to March, its price decreased from USD4,572/t in Dec. 2014 USD3,901/t in March 2015. The domestic VC manufacturers are less likely to raise prices in a short period and the export price will remain low.

It’s worth noting that DSM had acquired Aland Jiangsu Nutraceutical Co., Ltd., the domestic VC market will be consolidated, which may be beneficial to adjust the supply and demand of VC.
