According to the data released by NBS (National Bureau of Statistics), in January-February of this year, Chinese overall coke output reached 68.932 million tons, surging by 3.3% from prior year. Meanwhile, in February alone, the domestic coke production came to 34.304 million tons, rising by 4.7% as compared to the same period of last year.
From January to February of this year, Chinese iron ore output had totaled 153.084 million metric tons, up 16.3% year over year. While in February alone, the domestic iron ore production had amounted to 81.566 million metric tons, up 24.4% from the same period of prior year.
From the above data, we could see that the domestic home-made iron ore output has soared substantially, which is beneficial to the development of China's entire steel industry. As for the market prospect, we thought that the domestic iron ore production will continue rising up gradually because lots of steelmakers have accelerated their raw material self-efficiency constructions.
