On June 22, construction work commenced on Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Tangshan Iron and Steel Co.'s new high-strength auto steel sheet production project, as announced by China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC) on June 25. Construction will be carried out WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd, a subsidiary of MCC.
The planned annual output capacity of the project, which will consist of six production units including hot dip galvanizing (HDG) and pickling facilities, will be 1.5 million mt of 1,180 MPa steel sheet for application in the automotive sector and also in the home appliance sector.
