Reportedly, Chinese steel plate export prices on SS400 16-20mm with boron added fell to US$580~US$600/ton FOB China for April delivery, about US$20~US$30/ton lower compared to the previous week due to low export volumes and price decline in domestic markets.
Figures showed that the new export orders index fell from 50.5 in January to 49.8 in February, indicating that exports have turned to contract from modest growth.
According to a sales official from Tianjin Steel that the steel plate price has been falling in domestic market since last week with a markdown of RMB120/ton in the spot market in ten trading days, added that the export price is likely to keep stable in the following days.
