China exported 0.25 million of coke in Q1

According to the data compiled by China's customs, Chin's steel product exports totaled 5.03 million t in March of 2012, soaring by 1.64 million tons compared to February and by 2.44% year over year. At the same time, China's overall steel product exports came to 12.15 million t in January-March of 2012, up 15.8% year on year.

In March of 2012, China had imported 1.27 million t of the steel products, increasing by 30 thousand tons from previous month while down 20.47% from prior year. On the other hand, from January to March of this year, Chinese overall steel product imports amounted to 3.41 million t, down 18.4% year over year.

Besides China also imported 40 thousand t of the billet in March and the overall billet imports amounted to 0.11 million t in January-March, down 42.5% compared to the same period of last year.

At the same time, Chinese coke exports came to 100 thousand t in March and the year-to-date coke exports stood at 0.25 million t, down 79.3% year over year.

In March of 2012, China's iron ore imports had registered a month-on-month decrease of 2.11 million t and reached 62.87 million t, up 5.59% from prior year. Meanwhile, the year-to-date iron ore imports had aggregated to 187.62 million t, up 6% from the corresponding period of last year.
