According to the data released by China Customs recently, in January of this year, Chinese overall coke and semi-finished coke exports amounted to 70 thousand metric tons, decreasing by 0.12 million metric tons or 64% as compared to the corresponding period of previous year. Meanwhile, the export value came to $2989.1, down 59.5% year over year.

Even though the domestic coke market had endured a bland market condition in January due to Spring Festival Holidays, the coke prices were still flat on aggregate. As for the market prospect, experts expected that the coke prices may inch up gradually from second quarter of this year considering of the resuscitating market demands from steelmakers.
