On September 7, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit the border area of Yunnan Province and Guizhou Province, resulting in severe loss of lives and property. Immediately after the earthquake, CNPC headquarters ordered related subsidiaries to give full support to the disaster stricken area.
On September 8, CNPC donated RMB 5 million to Yunnan and Guizhou respectively. Meanwhile, all of CNPC's oil depots and service stations in the disaster stricken area opened up green channels to ensure full load oil supply for rescue activities. PetroChina Yunnan Marketing Company and Guizhou Marketing Company activated emergency plans to increase oil storage at the service stations and enhance supply of oil products to the affected area. Up to now, CNPC has arranged 146,600 tons of accumulative stock of refined products in Yunnan and Guizhou, which is enough to support the earthquake alleviation work and ordinary demand in the region.
