On the afternoon of June 24, 2009, Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang paid a visit to CNPC (Turkmenistan) Amu Darya River Gas Company. While watching the construction model, Li listened to the working briefing and asked details about project construction.

Li expressed that Sino-Turkmen gas cooperation has a vast potential for future development, and serve the fundamental and long-term interest of both peoples. He also expected that the completion of the first line of Central-Asia Gas Pipeline at the end of this year will further promote Sino-Turkmen gas cooperation in the fields of natural gas exploration and development, sales and purchase, and transportation.
