On February 24 in Beijing, CNPC inked strategic cooperation agreements on purchase and sale of synthetic rubber with five major domestic chemical enterprises.

As one of the most important producers and suppliers of oil, gas and refined products, CNPC is also the largest synthetic rubber manufacturer in China. CNPC currently produces 550 thousand tons of synthetic rubber annually, and is expected to produce 1.23 million tons in 2012.

CNPC's synthetic rubber products mainly include: emulsion polymerized styrene butadiene rubber (ESBR), solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR), nickel catalyzed butadiene rubber, nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) and SBS, as well as rare-earth polybutadiene rubber and ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) which are exclusively produced by CNPC in China.
