On January 8, at the State Science & Technology Awards Conference held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, four research achievements made by CNPC received the National Award for Science and Technology Progress, and one was granted the China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
Reservoir Formation Geological Theory, Exploration Technology and Major Discoveries for Middle-Low Abundance Lithologic Strata
was granted the first-class National Award for Science and Technology Progress.
Matching Development Technology for Kenkiyak Subsalt Carbonate Oilfield in
Kazakhstan

Study and Application of New Reservoir Protection and Reconstruction Techniques during Exploration and Development,
and
Study and Application of Key Technology for New Redundant Strapdown Inertial Measurement Unit
won the second-class National Award for Science and Technology Progress.
The
Multiwave Multicomponent Processing Technology and Fracture Prediction Techniques
project by British geophysicist Li Xiangyang from Edinburgh University and CNPC's Key Geophysical Prospecting Lab received the China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
