Russia's Minudobreniya net earnings up in January-June
During January-June, Russian fertiliser producer Minudobreniya's, a unit of UralChem saw net profit rise to RUB2.787 billion (US$86 million) from about RUB1.4 billion (US$43 million) in the same period of 2011.
According to the regional government's statement released Wednesday (Aug 1), sales revenue increased 30.4% on the year to RUB6.156 billion (US$190 million) in January-June. The accounting standards used were not specified.
Gross output of ammonia rose 1.0% on the year to 299,000 tonnes in January-June, while the production of carbamide climbed 2.1% on the year to 345,300 tonnes in the same period.
The company attributed the growth in chemical production in January-June to the improved operation of equipment repair and maintenance systems.
Minudobreniya exported 84% of the production total of ammonia and 83% of carbamide in January-June. Ammonia was supplied to the US and countries of Europe and North Africa, while carbamide was delivered to countries of Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
