IFFCO's fertiliser prices remain stable
In the wake of the Union Cabinet's approval of the proposal to bring down the quantum of subsidy on decontrolled fertilisers, phosphatic (P) and potassic (K) for 2012-13, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Co-operative Ltd (IFFCO) is not to raise any prices of fertilisers.
IFFCO Managing Director U S Awasthi said, "We will not increase any retail prices of DAP and Complex Fertilisers due to lower subsidy, Whereas we will try to secure imported raw material supplies required for fertilisers at lower price." He further added that "we have no plans at all to raise any prices of these fertilisers or to pass on any subsidy cut burden to the farmers pocket, we always work for the benefit of farmers and IFFCO is committed to the farmers of India".
On the lines of providing benefit to Indian farmers, IFFCO yesterday started the country's largest Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate Plant at its Kandla Unit of capacity 100 (Matric Ton Per Day) MTPD as on date with annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes. This facility at Kandla is expected to reduce the Zinc Micronutrient deficiency on Indian soil and increase high crop yield for food security in India and also bettering the life of Indian farmers. IFFCO has earlier introduced new innovative products like Neem Coated Urea at Kalol and Urea Phosphate at Kandla. In its plan to concentrate on micro-nutrient based fertilisers, IFFCO has to set up Zinc Sulphate Mono-hydrate unit at Kandla.
