Gevo, Land O'Lakes to jointly develop isobutanol distiller grains
In order to boost the value-added applications of animal feed, Gevo Inc had signed a deal with Land O' Lakes Purina Feed LLC to jointly develop isobutanol distiller grains (iDGs).
The Joint Development Agreement (JDA) signed between Gevo and the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Land O'Lakes Inc agriculture cooperative came after the signing of an off-take and marketing agreement in January 2012.
Additionally, Gevo said that it has purchased a patent portfolio developed by AmbroZea Inc and covering composition and methods for producing fermentation products and residuals that could boost the value of animal feed. Gevo expects that the new technology, used in collaboration with Land O' Lakes Purina Feed, would further boost the value of its iDGs in the animal feed market.
