Lysine market under pressure in China

Lysine prices dropped significantly during the week ending April 1.

Although hog market was encouraged by the news of the launching of the state pork procurement, which perked up prices in some regions, overall feed demand remained limited as farmers were cautious.

Average transacted price reduced to RMB7.07/kg, lower by RMB0.33/kg.

Domestic feed demand, and hence lysine sales, is expected to improve gradually in April as hog market strengthens with the support of state procurements, while H7N9 epidemic shows signs of abating.

RMB1=US$0.1613 (Apr 2)
