It took the company almost two years of planning and regulatory processes, before the Cabonne Shire Council approved MSM Milling''s application for the construction of a container loading facility and grain silos for the new plant.
Ground breaking was conducted last week and excavation and preparatory civil works are currentlyconducted on the site, located with their existing plant in Manildra, New South Wales (NSW).
Bob MacSmith, MSM Milling''s co-director, said, "MSM Milling will value-add to the mill''s existing meal and oil products and source local wheat and barley, as well as product from the Manildra Group''s nearby flour mill to produce the pellets."
"Like the existing milling operation, the new feedpellet mill will eventually operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, producing more than 100,000 tonnes of product each year", he added.
The new container loading facility will allow finished compound feed pellets to be transported via rail to port and then exported to foreign markets.
MacSmith hoped thatthe plant would be commissioned and operational within six months to offermore markets for local farmers selling wheat and barley.
