Indian poultry feed prices may increase on high input costs
   
   

   

As prices of key ingredients continue to increase in the last few days, Indian poultry feed products are set to be more expensive in the coming weeks.

   

   

Aditya Mishra, a commodity expert, said that poultry feed prices stayed unchanged this week, despite an uptrend in prices of some of its key ingredients. Prices may increase by INR400 (US$7.34) for a tonne, he added.

   

   

On Friday (Apr 5), soymeal went up by INR1,200 (US$22) and sold to INR39,100 (US$717). Bajra ruled flat and sold at INR1,485 (US$27) a quintal, di-calcium phosphate (DCP) was at INR35 (US$0.64) a kilogramme, meat cum bone meal (MBM) improved by INR3 (US$0.06) and quoted at INR42 (US$0.77) a kilogramme while corn sold at INR1,650 (US$30), remained unchanged.

   

   

Feedproducts have been ruling unchanged since last weekend but rising input cost may push feed prices upwards.

   

   

''Layer concentrate 25%'' was sold at INR1,465 (US$27) for a 50-kilogramme bag while ''layer concentrate 35%'' went at INR1,150 (US$21). Pre-lay mash quoted at INR1,040 (US$19) while layer grower mash sold at INR980 (US$18). Broiler concentrate quoted at INR2,000 (US$37) while broiler starter mash was at INR1,520 (US$28).

   

   

Meanwhile, a mixed trend was seen in the poultry products. Eggs improved marginally on lower supplies while broiler dropped on reduced off-take, on Friday. Eggs improved by INR0.11 (US$.002) and sold at INR2.57 (US$0.05), broiler went down by INR3 (US$0.06) and quoted at INR52-54 (US$0.95-0.99) a kilogramme, while chick sold remained unchanged at INR10 (US$0.18).
