China's feed production to rise 4%
It is estimated that China will produce 169 million tonnes of feed this year, up 4% from a year earlier, an official from the Ministry of Agriculture said.
China's grain output has only marginal scope to increase due to limited water resources and farmland, said Wang Zongli, deputy director of husbandry and livestock at the ministry.
Supply of feed grains is expected to be "increasingly tight," he said, according to a transcript of his remarks posted on the website of China Feed Industry Association Wednesday (Nov 23).
Corn is the main feed grain in China.
