Germany's Kahl upgrades pellet production
Amandus Kahl, a German feed manufacturing equipment supplier, upgrades its annular gap expander by adding a new crown outlet, which directly produces pellets from the expander.
The Crown Expander OEK combines two processes in one: expanding and pelleting, where the expander process is extended with additional shaping of the Expandat??.
This upgrade ensures easy processing and pelleting of feedmixtures that are usually difficult or even impossible to pellet. The device significantly increases the flexibility of the expander process and the specific Mechanical Energy (SME) control remains available through the hydraulically driven cone system.
Advantage of the Crown outlet is that coarse particles remain coarse contrary to products being pelleted with a pelleting press. Furthermore, the system has lower power consumption and a high output. Different pellet diameters can be obtained for all species of animals.
Existing expanders can be upgraded to crown outlet machines and due to the easily interchangeable heads the classical expander head may remain if required.
