Cargill CFO sees economic recovery in emerging markets
The global recession helped sink the fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of commodity processing giant Cargill Inc. by 69 percent but its executives are beginning to detect an economic rebound in some countries.
"We are cautiously optimistic about the time frame of the recovery," David W. MacLennan, senior vice president and chief financial officer of the closely held Minneapolis-based company, said Tuesday (August 18). "We are starting to see signs of recovery in emerging markets," he added.
