Bunge opens soy crushing plant in Brazil's Mato Grosso
Trading company Bunge said it opened a factory Thursday (June 18) in Brazil's Mato Grosso state to crush soy into soyoil and soymeal.
The 150 Brazilian real (US$76.2 million) plant has the capacity to crush 1.3 million tonnes of soy per year, the company said.
The plant is located in Nova Mutum in Mato Grosso, Brazil's leading soy producing state.
The plant also has storage capacity for 100,000 tonnes of grain and will create 100 jobs, according to the company.
Brazil is the world's No. 2 soy producer after the US.
