Vegetable protein to replace fishmeal
F.H. Schule Mühlenbau, Hosokawa Alpine and Amandus Kahl have developed a new process to produce high-quality vegetable protein concentrates as a substitute for fish meal.
F.H. Schule Mühlenbau said it would be responsible for cleaning, separation and shelling while Hosokawa Alpine would take charge of the fine grinding of legumes and separation by means of air classification into protein concentrate and starch concentrate.
Amandus Kahl takes charge of pelleting using the flat die pelleting press and cooling for storage and transport of the individual fractions.
The companies said that in comparison with the standard process, this innovative process of protein shifting is an economical and environmentally sound alternative for the supply of new protein resources.
