Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will be the host city of the 18th China Green Food Expo taking place next year, Baotou Daily reported on Sept 8.
The 17th China Green Food Expo concluded in Changchun, Jilin province, on Sept 5. Some 15 businesses from Baotou, which focus on the production and processing of organic and natural foods, attended the expo.
The flag of the expo was passed to Du Xuejun, mayor of Baotou, at the closing ceremony, and thus marks the start of the planning and preparation work in Baotou city.
Initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture in 1990, the China Green Food Expo is one of the largest and most professional food exhibitions in China.
The expo is to showcase the latest developments in agricultural products, with a focus on organic and natural foods, whilst boosting trade and development.
