Minister Han Changfu met with Mr. Andr? Rupprechter, Austrian Federal Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, in Vienna on January 19, 2017.
The two ministers reviewed the achievements of China-Austria agricultural cooperation in recent years, recognizing the bilateral agricultural cooperation as an important component of bilateral relations. Minister Han pointed out that agricultural high-level exchanges between China and Austria have been increasingly intensified and the two sides have maintained sound communication and cooperation on many major issues. Agricultural trade has been expanding, providing diversified options for customers and bringing more opportunities for agricultural development for the two sides. Practice has showed that enhancing agricultural cooperation is in line with the common interests of both peoples.
Andr? Rupprechter fully agreed with Minister Han and expressed that Austria is looking forward to furthering pragmatic cooperation with China
The two ministers also attended and addressed the first China-Austria Organic Agriculture Symposium. The two sides agreed on jointly developing a demonstration base for organic tea production in China at the Symposium.
